Welcome to this week’s ponderings…
It has been another thought provoking week and there has been much to do about nothing on several fronts causing some folks to fear that everything in their lives would turn to mush if certain things didn’t come to fruition as “planned”.
If you have had much to do with real estate, you will realise that people will do what people will do and in the end, there is nothing that can be planned, intersected, pre-empted or practiced that will cause that to change – people do what people do.
That’s why when transactions and negotiations are going on, I focus on the best outcome desired for my clients and work on adding some topping to the dessert in extra money, better conditions or preferably both.
That way when someone wishes to play “hard ball” with their offers and no matter how hard it is to not get trapped in the drama and excitement of putting a deal together (after all we are all only human), I fall back to “Now what does my client want here?”
In trying to outsmart the out smarters of the world, I notice we all become a bunch of smarties ending up with melted chocolates in our collective hands – sticky business indeed.
So, to avoid a sticky mess I’ve found that telling just how it is, is the only solution and in the fullness of time things work themselves through to the mutual benefit of the parties involved and interestingly, that is not always completing the transaction on the table.
What has this got to do with your life?
Probably not much unless you are in a position of selling/buying or planning to and eventually moving to improve your life. And it is that time of the year! The pressure is on; we are all beginning to get a bit tired and some are starting to believe the end is nigh.
My thoughts are this, people will do what they do, everything happens in the fullness of time and the cost of any drama is not worth it regardless of the adrenalin high.
One way of managing that beforehand, is to be sure you engage or have engaged an agent who understands that part of the process and doesn’t collapse your successful sale because of not knowing or ignoring it. When that happens, sales are often created at your expense.
As you know, this time of year, fatigue sets in and it is a challenge to rise above it – beware!
The reality is, the end is nigh as we are on countdown to 2017 and during the last 31 days, people will continue to do what they do but some will do stranger things causing even more stress – best to stay out of it or in the least, manage it.
Until Next Time, here’s to a Stress-Free Week and Feeling the Love with Best Feet Forward
PS: The market is doing very well by the way.
Did you know, four of the top six results in the country were from Queensland councils, including the Sunshine Coast (fifth highest at $4.39B) and Moreton Bay (sixth at $4.36b).
